About Me

Because I’ve been where you are.

When I brought my Huskies home, I knew what I was signing up for — intensity, independence, and a prey drive that would laugh in the face of a recall whistle. But what I didn’t expect was how trapped I’d feel, walk after walk.

I tried everything. Food rewards. Recall games. Every technique in the book. And still, the moment a deer appeared, it was game over. I’d cut walks short. Avoid open spaces. Not because I didn’t trust them — but because I didn’t trust I could keep them safe. Or that I could keep wildlife safe from them.

That’s when I started to seriously explore e-collar training. Not out of frustration, but out of care. I found trainers who used them not to punish, but to create real communication — to give their dogs freedom with structure, not without it. I saw it could be done differently.

And I began to learn what e-collar training really is.

It’s not about zapping a dog into obedience. It’s about building a system where your dog can explore off-lead, engage their mind, live out their instincts — and still come back to you. E-collars offer layered communication: a sound, a vibration, a correction — used clearly, calmly, and ethically. And the truth is, I rarely use anything beyond the vibration now. Because my dogs understand. And that’s the point.

The Turning Point

One day, we spotted a deer. And as instinct kicked in and my dogs gave chase, I asked them to stop.

And they did.

Within three seconds.

No shock. No panic. Just trust.

Then I asked them to sniff the ground, to track where the deer had gone. And they did that too — calmly, intently, fulfilled. That moment changed everything. I no longer avoid the wild. I no longer dread the chase. I walk my dogs in nature, as they were born to do — but now, we walk it together.

Why I Train Now

I created Unleashed Instincts for people like me — dog owners who love their high-drive, high-energy companions but feel like they’re constantly choosing between control and freedom. It doesn’t have to be that way.

My job isn’t to give you perfect obedience. It’s to give you and your dog a way to trust each other — to work with their instincts, not suppress them. So they can run, roam, chase the wind — and come back when it counts.

This training is for:

  • Owners of working or prey-driven breeds (Huskies, Collies, Malamutes, Sighthounds, etc.)

  • People who are tired of hearing “just keep them on a lead”

  • Dogs who love the wild — and owners who want to give it back to them, safely

You don’t have to stay stuck in frustration. I’ve walked that path already. Let me walk you through it.
